                        Group and Individual participants welcome.


Parade Route: From the Arena on Hwy. 99, into Athens on Market St. to the Courthouse square, turn left, or north on Jefferson St and continue to Elm St. Turn left, or west on Elm St., and return to the Arena.


2:00 P.M.       Grand Marshal will lead the 33rd Annual Rodeo Parade, featuring Queen Contestants & Cowgirls and Cowboys of all ages on horseback along with many buggies & wagons.

All team roping contestants will compete during the designated slack on this date.

Area elementary schools will reward their “Leader In Me” and “Reading Initiative” participants with a field day to watch Slack for free as guests of Sheriff Blakely.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Rodeo sponsors a Rodeo Queen Pageant. There are seven divisions for the Queen Pageant ranging from ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18, and 18-26. Horsemanship is optional for all divisions aged 5 and up, except “Miss Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo”, the 18-26 year old division. Horsemanship for the 18-26 year old division requires horsemanship participation. Contestants in this division compete to win a custom-made trophy saddle, a custom belt buckle, a watch, scholarship money and much more. The entry fee for this division is $100.00. Applications can be picked up at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, downloaded from, or by mail.


April 17 – Close of Queen Applications for Ages 3-18.


May 1 – Close of Miss Rodeo Applications for Ages 18-26.
